The five-star hotel is member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux group and is located on the Croatian island of Hvar just minutes from Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in the eastern Adriatic. Located in Maslinica Bay, the resort blends into terraced vineyards and lush pine forests while overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
The 50 luxurious rooms and suites and three villas boast breathtaking sea views, absolute privacy and state-of-the-art comfort. The design is a fusion of Mediterranean simplicity and French-inspired art style. For example, regional terracotta lines up with stone from the island of Brač and brushed brass - light wood, also from the region, creates a warm balance.
Maslina focuses on sustainability not only in terms
of design, but also in its cuisine. The Michelin-recommended restaurant sources most of its ingredients from its own 7,000-square-meter garden. The dishes are seasonal and Mediterranean-inspired. The quality of ingredients from regional suppliers is to be emphasized. In keeping with the "Mindful Luxury" philosophy, products in the spa area are also made with organic ingredients and local essential oils, without parabens or synthetic fillers that could harm the environment or guests' health.
In addition, there is a number of other measures to reduce the resort's environmental footprint and support the local community in its efforts to become more sustainable.
